This is one of the units that covers the CS1 and CS2 (Actuarial Statistics) subject of the Foundation Program used by the Actuaries Institute (the professional accreditation body for the Actuarial Science course).

This unit offers comprehensive review of probabilistic methods and tools related to Mathematical Statistics, including Statistical distributions and their moments, functions of random variables, parameter estimation and sampling theory.

All students will have access to a weekly on-line lecture and workshop, which will be delivered through Blackboard Collaborate and will be recorded. One lab will run in online mode and rest as face-to-face. For those students who cannot attend the Bentley campus due to travel restrictions must attend the  online version of the  lab.

It is important to be aware of updates to delivery and assessments of this unit due to Covid-19 and social distancing restrictions. Updates may be required during the semester - especially relating to on-campus activities - so please regularly monitor Blackboard for potential changes.
